Just reelected, Emmanuel Macron is already pelted with questions and tomatoes on first public appearance.

Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron has been bombarded with a bunch of small tomatoes hurled by a disgruntled protestor as he made his first public appearance after his weekend re-election victory.
According to details, French president did not appear to have been hit, and it was unclear what prompted the tomato-throwing. Instead, tomato hit one of his security guards, who shouted “projectile”.
The incident happened Wednesday at it is yet to clear whether authorities would take legal action against the person who hurled the tomatoes.
A video on Twitter showed Mr Macron, surrounded by his security, accepting greetings from his supporters when tomatoes were thrown at him.
The officials immediately covered the President from all directions and then one of them unfolded a special umbrella to shield him from above the president’s entourage escorted him away.
In the footage, Macron can be seen instantly leaving the location after the incident.

Notably, if political motives prompted ‘the tomato attack’, it wouldn’t be the first time Macron has faced the ire of his detractors in such a way.
In 2021, a man slapped Macron’s face, shouting “Down with Macronism” before the security detail rushed in.
Macron has had eggs thrown at him several times, including in 2016, 2017 and 2021.
