This rain spell is likely to remain active for the next 2 to 3 days

Karachi: Climate analysts have predicted heavy rainfall in Karachi again today.
According to a weather analyst, there are two different monsoon systems over the northern Arabian Sea — one near the southeast of Keti Bandar and the other over the Kutch region. A prominent low-pressure area also persists over central India.
The analyst stated that under the influence of these systems, thunderclouds will continue to form over southeastern and lower Sindh today, with a high likelihood of heavy rain in the city.
Due to favorable weather conditions, more thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected in Karachi today, and this rain spell is likely to remain active for the next 2 to 3 days.
Deputy Director of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Anjum Nazir Zaigham, said that the rain in Karachi could begin after 2 PM today and is expected to continue until around 7 PM.
Zaigham further noted that the rain system across Sindh may continue until August 23, adding that cloudbursts typically occur in mountainous areas.
