As per the available details, UK has the fifth-highest number of deaths in the world leaving behind the US, Brazil, India and Mexico.

The figures from the UK's statistics authority are based on the number of people who have died with COVID-19 recorded on their death certificates, and don't overlap exactly with other measures.

UK is one of the nations hit hardest by the COVID-19, with a more infectious strain emerging in the winter. Data further revealed that 7,766 virus-related deaths were recorded in the UK in the week up to January 15.
