WhatsApp empowers group admins with more features
A text reading, “This was removed by an admin” will appear when they get deleted.
San Francisco: Meta owned WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that may give more authority to the group administrators.
According to reports, the alleged upcoming feature will allow group admins to delete messages for everyone in the group.
A text reading, “This was removed by an admin” will appear in case the admin delete message/messages.
The update will be rolled out in a new update version up to 2.22.11.4 in coming weeks.
For the time being, the messaging app allows users in a group to individually delete their own chat messages, admins cannot remove messages sent by other members in the group.
In an apparent aim at giving more control to WhatsApp group admins over the content of their groups, the move is to help them ensure that all group members follow decorum and follow the purpose for which the group has been made.
Through this update, the administrator can be moderators and will have the authority to remove members from the group also.
Moreover, the platform is looking to add time limit to delete a message for everyone. It will be two days and 12 hours.
It will also be an upcoming feature as well.
Recently, an emoji-reaction feature got rolled out so that users could react to the messages, using six reactions i.e. like, heart, laughing face, surprised face, thanks and sad face.
It is similar to the features which are on other social media platforms such Facebook and Instagram.
