Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has suspended the order of a sessions court to lodge case against Pakistani captain Babar Azam for blackmailing and harassing to former class fellow.

As per details, session’s court ordered the federal investigators to file a case against Babar Azam on charges of harassment and blackmail the accuser Hamiza Mukhtar moved the court.

Hamiza Mukhtar also claimed that Babar Azam’s family made an offer of Rs. 2 million through a third party to keep her mouth shut.

Moreover, she submitted all records and a mobile phone to the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) as the agency requested them for forensic tests.

Babar Azam’s counsel maintained in his petition in the LHC clarified that the order to file case is against the Cyber Crime Rules 2018.

However, Justice Asjad Javed, while hearing the petition, summoned the complainant Hamiza Mukhtar on the next hearing.

As per FIA ​​report, the plaintiff Hamiza Mukhtar had filed a petition against some ‘unknown numbers’ for threatening, blackmailing and sending obscene messages.

Plaintiff during the inquiry recorded the statement whereas, the mobile numbers provided by Hamiza were registered on the names of Maryam Ahmed, Mohammad Babar and Salimi Bibi. The agency had also summoned the accused on whom mobile numbers were registered.

Babar Azam was called three times to record the statement on the allegation slapped against him by the plaintiff but he did not join the inquiry, the report stated.

The report said Faisal Azam— the brother of Babar Azam appeared before the inquiry team in place of the Babar however, "It appears that Babar is guilty."

The report said that Salimi Bibi also did not recorded her statement in spite of three notices served to her while Maryam Ahmed joined the inquiry but refused to identify the plaintiff.

The FIA ​​report further said that Maryam Ahmed also refused to send nasty messages to the plaintiff from her number. While Maryam was also asked to submit her mobile for forensic probe which she did not provided.

Additional Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain, while ruling on the petition directed FIA ​​to complete legal proceedings against Babar Azam and other accused and register a case.
