PPP decides to continue with coalition govt despite Punjab by-elections defeat
Top leadership will attend meeting of coalition partners in Lahore tomorrow

Karachi: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Monday decided to continue with the coalition government depsite defeat in the Punjab by-elections.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the party's Central Executive Committee (CEC) held at the Bilawal House Karachi.
Talking to the media after meeting, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said the political situation was discussed in the CEC meeting and it was decided that the Parliament would complete its term.
He said the CEC had decided to stand with the coalition parties, adding the party leadership would attend a meeting with allies in Lahore tomorrow.
Memon said in the by-elections, Imran Khan "made the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) controversial", adding the PPP had always struggled and the next decisions would be taken in consultation with the allies.
The PPP leader said there would be a consultation on electoral reforms during the Lahore's meeting, adding the PPP's CEC had decided that elections should be held on time.
He said Imran Khan should apologize to Mr X and Mr Y, adding the PTI has lost even after winning the by-election in Punjab.
