CWG 2022: Haider Ali to appear in final of 81kg category of Weightlifting event today
The Pakistan contingent consists of 103 members


Birmingham: In the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham, Haider Ali of Pakistan will appear in the final of 81kg category of the Weightlifting event today.
In the featherweight category of Boxing, Ilyas Hussain of Pakistan will fight against Anthony Shawn of Trinidad in Round 16 today.
On July 29, Commonwealth Games 2022 kicked off in a carnival of colour at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.
More than 5,000 athletes will compete in 280 events across 19 sports in the 10 days coming up, with a para-sport programme integrated into the Games.
Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari also attended the ceremony.
Pakistan's premier wrestler and two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist Muhammad Inam and the national women’s cricket team skipper Bismah Maroof served as flag-bearers during the opening ceremony.
The Pakistan contingent consists of 103 members. Pakistani athletes are featuring in swimming, athletics, para-athletics, badminton, boxing, women's T20 cricket, gymnastics, hockey, judo, squash, table tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling.
