On August 9, Gill was arrested by Islamabad Police outside Banigala Chowk

Islamabad: The session court of Islamabad Wednesday sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill on a two-day physical remand in a sedition case.
Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry announced the court's reserved verdict pertaining to a petition seeking the physical remand of Gill.
The court, in its verdict, approved a two-day physical remand of Shehbaz Gill.
On August 12, the court sent Shahbaz Gill to jail on judicial remand, rejecting a plea by the police seeking an extension in his physical remand.
Following the court's decision over Gill's remand, the federal government filed a petition through Advocate General Islamabad Jahangir Jadoon seeking physical custody of the PTI leader to collect additional evidence in the case and acquire the names of those behind the alleged offense.
On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the Additional Sessions Judge to rehear the review appeal for Gill’s physical remand in a sedition case.
It is worth noting that the PTI leader was arrested on sedition charges by Kohsar Police on August 9 for allegedly making anti-military comments.
