The authority says television channels will be able to telecast only the recorded speeches of the PTI chairman
Islamabad: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned live speeches of PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.
Accoridng to a six-page notofication issued by the authority, the PTI chairman are continuously leveling baseless allegations against the state institutions so his live speeches are being banned under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002.
The authority says the statememts of Imran Khan against the government officers and the institutions are a violation of the Article 19 of the Constitution.
The notofication issued by PEMRA has mentioned Khan's speech at F-9 Park.
According to the notification, the PTI chairman is subverting public order as he is constantly inciting citizens against institutions and officers in his speeches.
The former PM's hate speech is against the Supreme Court's verdict in the suo moto case, the notofication further reads.
