Solidarity with flood affectees: Pakistan Army postpones Defence Day ceremony at GHQ
Almost one third of Pakistan is submerged in rain-triggered devastating floods


Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army has postponed its annual Defence Day ceremony in solidarity with the flood-affected people throughout the country.
The ceremony is held at the General Headquarters Rawalpindi on September 6 every year to commemorate the sacrifices of fallen heroes during the 1965 war.

Pakistan Armed Forces shall continue serving our brothers and sisters struck by unprecedented floods.
“In solidarity with the flood affected people of Pakistan, central ceremony at GHQ to commemorate Defence & Martyrs Day on 6 September has been postponed,” the military’s media wing tweeted today.
"Pakistan Armed Forces shall continue serving our brothers and sisters struck by unprecedented floods," the tweet further said.
