Islamabad: Shab-e-Barat, the night of reverence and divine blessings for Muslims, will be observed across the country tonight with religious zeal and fervour.

Also known as Laylatul Bara'ah or Laylatun Nisfe min Sha'ban in the Arab world, Shab-e-Barat is the night of blessings and worship of the Allah. On this event, Muslims from all across the world offer special prayers for the security and prosperity of Ummah.
It is believed that if someone seeks forgiveness whole heartedly from Allah throughout the night for all the sins he may have committed, he could be forgiven.
On this night, Allah also decides the fate of all human beings for the coming year taking into account their past deeds.
Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad in a statement appealed the people to seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty on this religious occasion in wake of coronavirus pandemic that seems to be spreading far and wide.
He also urged people to strictly follow Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) especially in mosques to control the spread of deadly disease.
