FIA’s Corporate Banking Circle lodged a case against 11 party office-bearers including PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the foreign funding case


Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested senior PTI leader and former federal minister Senator Azam Khan Swati, GNN reported on Thursday.
The Swati family also confirmed the arrest and stated that Swati was taken into custody by the FIA personnel from Chak Shahzad during a late-night raid.
Azam Swati was arrested in connection with a money laundering and foreign funding case.
Confirming the development, Babar Awan said that the government had arrested Azam Swati in the dark of the night.
FIA’s Corporate Banking Circle on Tuesday lodged a case against 11 party office-bearers including PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the foreign funding case.
Later, the Islamabad High Court approved on Wednesday the protective bail application filed by Imran Khan in the prohibited funding case.
