‘It is okay for Imran Khan to normalize ties with Delhi but not for Nawaz Sharif’; PML-N questions resumption of trade with India
Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has questioned the resumption of bilateral trade between India and Pakistan saying it’s strange that it is okay for Imran Khan to normalize ties with Delhi but not for Nawaz Sharif.

His reaction came following Pakistan’s decision to buy sugar and cotton from India, a decision that may revive bilateral trade relations which were suspended after the August 05, 2019 decision of India to illegally revoke the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir after abrogating Article 35A and 370.
While addressing media, Ahsan Iqbal said that government has to clarify the reasons behind resuming bilateral trade with India.
“When former premier Nawaz Sharif talked about normalizing ties with India keeping in mind national interests, slogans were chanted against him? Prime Minister Imran Khan should answer why the direction of winds has changed now? Has India reverted its decision of revoking occupied Kashmir’s status?” he asked.
Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government, the PML-N leader said that the ruling party is unable to manage anything whether its economy, trade or politics.
“This government has changed three finance ministers in three years. They are unable to launch a single project for the welfare and development of people. The country was progressing immensely during the tenure of PML-N. The only solution to divert this country towards the path of development is by sending this government home and electing PML-N again,” he said adding that Imran Khan is playing his final innings and will be sent packing soon.
Referring to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Ahsan Iqbal said that the anti-corruption watchdog is being used to target political opponents.
“Why is this NAB not taking any action against sugar flour mafia?” he added.
