Gas availability to be better than last year: Musadik Malik
The minister said that the coalition government is making all efforts for gas availability.
Islamabad: Federal Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik Tuesday assured that Pakistan will have better gas availability during this winter season as compared to the last year.
While addressing a news conference in Islamabad, the minister said that the coalition government is making all efforts for gas availability.
He said that two additional Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Cargoes have also been arranged for the months of January and February, adding that it has also directed by the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to sort more LNG cargoes to offer maximum ease to the public.
He also highlighted that Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), Pak-Arab Refinery Company Limited (PARCO) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) have also been engaged to acquire Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) considering the gas situation. He further added that the SNGPL will sell LPG cylinders in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, whereas SSGC will procure surplus twenty thousand ton of LPG.
The Minister of State for Petroleum further added that the Prime Minister has also directed to prepare a major strategy for energy sector with the object to make Pakistan a self-sufficient state and cut down energy prices.
Referring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) long march, the minister termed it “a march against the state,” adding that “Imran Khan is threatening the state institutions”.
