California: Google will release the final version of Chrome for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in 2023 with no further updates.

The final version of Chrome will be 110, which operates the two older Microsoft operating systems i.e. Windows 7 and 8.1, which is expected to be released on February 7, 2023.

This could be more significant than users believe. Statistics show that a large number of computer systems are still operated using Windows 7. It was introduced back in 2009 and Microsoft formally ended up supporting it in 2020. As per last year, it was estimated that 100 million computers were still running Windows 7.

This would cause a serious security problem for users as soon as their web browser and operating systems will become incompatible.

As per the Google support page update, Chrome will continue to function after version 110 but no more updates will be available for Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. Hence, it highly recommends that users update as soon as they can if they are still using outdated operating systems.
