Lahore: Doctors and senior party leaders have declared that the medical condition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, who received multiple bullet wounds whilst atop his container, out of danger, adding that the party leader will spend the night at the hospital.   

According to GNN, the former Prime Minister’s leg surgery continued for one and a half hours at night, following which he was shifted to a private room. Doctor Faisal Sultan of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, head of medical team constituted for treatment of Imran Khan, Thursday night said that his condition is ‘out of danger’. 

While being treated at hospital, city scan, x-ray and other tests were also carried out on Imran Khan. In this regard, the hospital administration says that his ‘satisfactory enough to be discharged’, but the doctors have advised him to rest for a day.

Talking to media, Dr Faisal Sultan said that his blood pressure and other vital signs were normal. 

On the other hand, the preliminary investigation revealed that the person who attacked Imran Khan is a drug addict. The assailant confessed to the crime, saying that the former premier was his only target. 

According to the investigation, the suspect had 46 bullets along with the pistol and reached the site through Bypass Road. 

Six other leaders of the party including Senator Faisal Javed also sustained gunshot wounds, while a party worker identified as Muazzam Nawaz was killed.
