Portugal, Morocco enter quarter-finals of FIFA World Cup
Portugal secures quarter berth by routing Switzerland; Morocco knocks out Spain, becoming first-ever Arab team to reach quarter-finals
Doha: In the pre-quarter-Final round of FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Morocco defeated Spain by 3-nil while Portugal thrashed Switzerland by 6-1 goals last night.
Portugal sealed their spot in the Last 8 with a crushing 6-1 win over Switzerland. While, Morocco eliminated Spain from the World Cup in a penalty shootout.
Notably, the South African team will record its first-ever appearance in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup.

Now, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will meet Morocco in the quarterfinals.
Croatia, Brazil, Netherlands, Argentina, England and France have also qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022 Quarterfinal stage.
FIFA Football World Cup 2022 is being played in Qatar and will continue till 18th December 2022. A total of 32 football teams participated to compete with each other, divided into eight groups.
Out of 32 teams, 16 teams have qualified for round 16.
The FIFA World Cup quarterfinal stage will kick off on December 9, with Brazil taking on Croatia in the first match. Old rivals England and France will face each other on the second day.
The four winners will progress to the semifinals, starting December 14.
