Contempt Case: ECP issues bailable arrest warrants against Imran Khan, others
The election body instructed each of three leaders to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000.
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday issued bailable arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and other party leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar in a contempt case against them.
The election body instructed each of three leaders to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000.
Earlier on January 3, the commission had warned Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar for the last time to appear before the commission.
The ECP member Justice (retd) Ikram Ullah Khan had warned to issue arrest warrants against these leaders in today’s hearing.
The bench adjourned the hearing till January 17.
