Islamabad Police had arrested the former army officer from his residence in the federal capital.
Islamabad: District and Session Court Thursday acquitted Lieutenant General (Retired) Amjad Shoaib from the case registered against him for inciting people against state institutions.
Additional Sessions Judge of Islamabad Tahir Abbas Sipra announced the reserved verdict in the presence of retired general’s laywer Mian Ashfaq.
Earlier on February 27, Islamabad Police had arrested the former army officer from his residence in the federal capital.
According to the police, First Information Report (FIR) had been registered against Amjad in Ramna police station for inciting people against state institutions.
The case was registered on the complaint of Magistrate Awais Khan following his television interview, under sections 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
