The PTI Chief says that army chief General Asim Munir is treating him like an enemy.
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday accused Gen (retd) Qamar Jawed Bajwa of “backstabbing” him, demanding court-martial of the former military leader.
Imran Khan also said that Army Chief General Asim Munir was treating him like an enemy. He expressed these words while talking to the journalists at his residence in Lahore on Friday.
Imran Khan lashed out at the former COAS, saying that he spoke against Moscow right after he had gone there for a visit after the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.
He also claimed that the establishment did not understand the politics, pointing out that if the COAS doubted his integrity so much, he should look into it personally and would find that "I am indeed innocent of any corruption".
He said, “It is very important for the army to be strong, Khan said.
The PTI Chief also talked about the upcoming general elections
He said, “We [PTI] will win the next election despite Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) umpires,”.
Khan said that the overseas Pakistanis were standing by his party and would keep supporting it.
Khan while responding to another question revealed that decision to travel to Islamabad by road instead of air was made late night.
He said, “There was news that they wanted to arrest me from the airport and take me to Balochistan.”
The PTI Chief also expressed concerns that he had threats from those who should protect him. Talking about Jail bharo Tehreek, Khan said that he was thinking that it could back the party in terms of votes.
