The PTI leader, who is also a prominent lawyer, has criticized the incumbent government for withdrawing security of the former Prime Minister, and asked the courts to allow his appearance via a video link due to security threats.

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan claimed that another plan of assassination attempt on former Prime Minister Imran Khan was being hatched.
Babar Awan, who is also an eminent lawyer, said that he had solid information about such nefarious design.
He made these claims while addressing a press conference in the federal capital on Friday.

“We already knew that an assassination attempt could be carried out at Imran Khan before start of the long march,” said Awan.
He also said that people mocked him when he revealed the information of assassination attempt on Imran Khan but it happened in reality at the later stage when the PTI’s long march reached Wazirabad.
“The incident was colored with the religious extremism and the government couldn’t lodge even the First Information Report (FIR) against the culprits despite repeated efforts of the PTI chief,” said Awan.
He pointed out that the coalition government had two stances about this incident; first was that PTI chief was neve attacked and the second one was that a religiously charged person attacked Imran Khan.
The TI leader blamed the local police for not performing their duties while then JIT formed to probe the incident also could not come up with useful findings as it held that the bullets were fired from three different directions.

He went on to say that his words could help to determine the relevant people to understand that how the attackers could make another assassination attempt.
Awan argued that it was a conspiracy and it was the reason that Khan was being forced to appear before the court.
“Who is behind all these new FIRs?,” he asked.
Talking about Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Babar Awan said, “After surviving first attempt, we had a clue that a foreign agency wanted to kill Imran Khan during his appearance in the court. The PDM government itself admitted this fact a few days ago,”.
He also came down hard upon the coalition government by holding it responsible for taking back the security of Imran Khan.
The PTI leader said that Imran Khan appeared before the Lahore high court and anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the federal capital without security assigned to him for his safety and protection.
“Khan’s life was at threat because there was no security for him when he appeared before the courts few days ago,” said Awan, pointing out that all the cases registered against Imran Khan could be dismissed.
He asked the courts to treat Khan equally under the law but allow his appearance through a video link during the proceedings of the cases.
