Founder of banned BNA, most wanted terrorist Gulzar Imam arrested
His relation with hostile intelligence agencies are being investigated.
Rawalpindi: Security forces arrested the founder of banned Baloch National Army (BNA) and most wanted terrorist Gulzar Imam also known as Shambay in an intelligence operation, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to ISPR, the BNA is responsible for dozens of terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Gulzar Imam was also the deputy of Brahmadagh Bugti in the Baloch Republican Army (BRA) until 2018.
The BNA formed on January 11, 2022 from the merger of the BRA and the United Baloch Army (UBA), has been involved in attacks on law enforcement agencies in Panjgur and Nushki, ISPR said.
According to ISPR, terrorist Gulzar Imam also played an important role in the formation of Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar in November 2018, he was also the operational head of Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar. His visits to Afghanistan and India are also on record. He also visited India with Afghani passport with the name of Gul Naveed.
ISPR stated that Gulzar was born in Prom, District Panjgor of Balochistan. He worked as news reported and contractor till 2009 after which he indulged into state enmity activities.
His relation with hostile intelligence agencies are being investigated. His arrest is a major blow to BNA and other militant groups, ISPR said.
