A LHC five-member bench turns down the plea of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan seeking early hearing for the matter of possible operation again in Zaman Park during the Eid-holidays.

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered the government authorities not to harass Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
A LHC five-member bench led by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi announced the verdict reserved earlier on the plea of Imran Khan challenging registration of different cases under terrorism charges.
The bench turned down Imran Khan’s plea for early hearing of plea against possible operation inside the Zaman Park during the Eid-ul-Fitre holidays, observing that there was no hurry for hearing of such petition.
The PTI chief appeared at the court himself for the hearing along with other leaders of his party.
The verdict stated that Khan should be treated according to the law as per the assurance given by the Punjab Government lawyer.
“Imran Khan should not be illegally harassed until the next hearing,” the court mentioned in its verdict.
The court put off further hearing till May 2.
Imran Khan through his counsel had challenged registration of the cases registered against him under similar charges. The counsel said that over 40 cases of terrorism were registered against him. He said that 100 cases were others registered under different sections of the different laws.
The counsel said that the cases were still being registered.
He asked the court to set aside the cases registered against him and order the relevant authorities from harassing him.
During the hearing, Imran Khan also made some submissions. The bench hinted at reconciliation and said that Eid is coming and everyone should embrace each other.
