Faisalabad: The Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah, on Sunday expressed his concerns over an alleged audio leak featuring the mother-in-law of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mahjabeen, and Rafia Tariq, the wife of lawyer Khawaja Tariq Rahim.
In the audio clip, the two women are heard discussing CJP Umar, suo motu powers, gatherings of the PTI, and the threat of martial law in the country.
Sanaullah demanded the resignation of judges mentioned in the conversation, stating that if the conversation was correct, those involved must be held accountable. He also called for a forensic audit of the audio leak and punishment if it was found to be incorrect.
وزیرداخلہ راناثناءاللہ pic.twitter.com/W4TFCVPV7Y

Sanaullah further stated that the division and polarization being created in the country was a cause for concern. He expressed regret that decisions were being made on the basis of ego and stubbornness, questioning what would happen to the country if such behavior was happening in the corridors of justice.
Mahjabeen expressed a wish for early elections in the audio clip, but Rafia feared that martial law could be imposed if elections were not held at this time. However, Mahjabeen said that they were not ready to impose martial law.
The authenticity of the audio clip has not been verified, and Sanaullah has called for a forensic audit to be conducted.
