Army Chief welcomes US announcement of extraction of troops from Afghanistan
US Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan Mrs Angela Ageler Thursday called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, matters of mutual interest and overall regional security situation including recent developments in the Afghan Peace Process were discussed in detail.
COAS welcomed President Biden’s announcement of the withdrawal of US forces from Afganistan by September 2021. He further reiterated that a prosperous, stable and peaceful Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan in particular and the region in general. COAS also hoped for greater Pak-US bilateral cooperation in all domains in future, the statement added.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process and also assured of US continued assistance for the common cause of peace in Afghanistan.
Earlier the day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Fauji Foundation Headquarters in Rawalpindi and inaugurated the 100-bed hospital.
According to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the CAOS also inaugurated the Foundation University Institute School of Nursing.
Following the occasion, he was given a detailed briefing on ongoing and future projects of the Fauji Foundation and appreciated the performance and commitment of the foundation towards the provision of quality services and assured of his full support in all its future endeavours.
The Fauji Foundation was established as a charitable trust in 1954 and is being operated on a completely self-sustaining basis.
It is spending over Rs. 23.8 billion since inception on welfare.
The Foundation provides services in the areas of healthcare, education, educational stipends, technical and vocational training.
