Hundreds of almond and apricot trees were uprooted, while wheat crops were destroyed.


Lahore: Wind, heavy rain and hailstorm occurred in different cities of Punjab as a result of which a part of the wall of University of Punjab collapsed, while trees were also uprooted due to the storm in different areas.
According to details, one lane of the road from Jinnah Hospital to Garden Town was closed for traffic. Power supply from 160 feeders of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) region was temporarily suspended.
Patoki city and its surroundings also received rain with strong winds and thunder which tripped several feeders.
Department of Meteorology stated that there is a possibility of more rain with strong winds in Punjab till today’s (Friday) evening.
It told: “Another powerful rain system has entered North-Eastern Balochistan, heavy rain and hailstorm have occurred in many areas, as a result of which vehicles’ windows and solar panels got damaged”.
