Hiroshima: G7 leaders, currently gathered in Hiroshima, Japan, have announced a plan to counter security risks, including Russia's alleged "weaponization of energy."
The joint statement issued on Saturday emphasizes the commitment to prevent attempts to exploit economic dependencies for political purposes.
The G7 members and their partners, including smaller economies, are determined to resist and hold accountable those who engage in such behavior.
Recent incidents of weaponizing energy and other economic dependencies serve as lessons, and the G7 nations firmly oppose such actions.
Russia has faced accusations of manipulating energy prices and supply to gain political influence, prompting efforts by Europe to reduce its dependence on Russian energy sources since the start of the Ukraine war.
