Islamabad: Shibli Faraz and Shaukat Tareen were sworn in as federal ministers by President Arif Alvi in a ceremony held in Aiwan-e-Sadar in Islamabad on Saturday.

Shibli Faraz will take charge as Minister for Science and Technology, whereas Shaukat Tareen will henceforth be Minister for Finance.
Prime Minister Imran Khan reshuffled his cabinet on Friday and decided to appoint Shaukat Tareen as the new finance minister.
Tareen replaced federal minister Hammad Azhar, who was appointed finance minister a few weeks ago replacing Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.

Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry replaced Shibli Faraz as information minister while Shibli Faraz took charge of science and technology ministry.
Last month, Senator Shibli Faraz had said that Prime Minister Imran had intentions of reshuffling the cabinet as he wanted to bring in the new team.
"When a new individual comes along, they come up with new ideas," Faraz had said.
