Sanjay Dutt dubbed 'Zanjeer' on phone last-minute before jail sentence
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's phone dubbed 'Zanjeer' one night before his jail sentence in 2013.
Mumbai: In a surprising revelation, it has been disclosed that actor Sanjay Dutt completed the dubbing for the film 'Zanjeer' over a phone call just a night before his impending jail sentence in 2013.
Producer Apoorva Lakhia recently shared this anecdote during an interview with Siddharth Kannan. He recounted how Dutt, feeling guilty about not having completed the dubbing, reached out to him the night before his arrest.
Lakhia explained, "Sanju sir is amazing. He was going to jail the next day, and he hadn't completed the dubbing for Zanjeer."
Dutt called Lakhia, asking him to visit his place that night to accomplish the dubbing before his scheduled arrest at 1:30 PM the following day.
Moved by Dutt's determination, Lakhia said, "I took my technician. He dubbed the whole film on a phone. And he was going to jail at 1 in the afternoon. That is the bonding."
Sanjay Dutt had been sentenced to imprisonment for illegal possession of arms related to the 1993 Mumbai blast case.
