Nowshera: In a shocking revelation, it has come to light that 237 individuals have been illegally appointed at the DHQ Hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
These appointments have resulted in an annual salary expenditure of Rs. 16.1 crore.
The hospital's Medical Superintendent (MS) has written a letter to the Director-General of Health, urging a review of the excessive hiring at the facility.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also initiated an investigation into the matter.
As reported by GNN, illegal appointments were made during the previous government's tenure.
The letter from the Hospital's Medical Superintendent highlights the burden caused by the salaries of these 237 employees, which far exceeds the hospital's total income of Rs. 80 lakhs.
MS has called for the termination of these unlawfully appointed individuals' jobs and a comprehensive investigation into the entire affair.
Sources indicate that NAB has already begun its investigation and recently conducted a raid at the DHQ Hospital.
Significant and official documents pertaining to the illegal appointments have been seized as part of the ongoing probe.
