Karachi: The Cyclone Byparjoy has subsided as the stormy waves of the sea have also started to return to normal, the Meteorological Department predicted the normal weather in a day or two.

Due to the strong waves, thousands of fan shells came to the beach of Karachi. According to experts, fan shells are sold for three to four dollars in foreign countries. The meat inside these shell is exported to Southeast Asian countries.

Sea water entered Chasma Goth, but there was no harm to the population. Rerhi Goth fishermen are worried about not going to the open sea for fishing for a week.

Earlier, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) forecasted that the storm has weakened after crossing the coast of Indian Gujarat, after the reduction in intensity, it was decreased from ‘very severe’ to ‘severe’. The intensity will change into depression after the intensity further decreases by today’s (Saturday) evening. The wind speed around the center is 80 to 100 kmph.

According to NDMA, the potential impact of the storm on Pakistan's coastline depends on further developments. The relevant agencies are ready to deal with any emergency, people should be cautious until the full impact of the storm is over.

One person was killed due to lightning strike in Jhado area of Mirpurkhas while intermittent rain continued. Electricity supply was suspended due to rain.

The threat of Cyclone Biparjoy to hit Karachi's coast has been averted, however, its effects are still visible in the form of flooding on the beach.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that Cyclone is located at a distance of 125 km from Keti Bandar, 255 km from Karachi and 165 km from Thatta. It would may turn into a weak cyclonic storm, which is expected to become a depression by this evening.

On the other hand, the effects of Biparjoy began to be visible in Sajawal and Tharparkar also, heavy rains started in both the areas. It is raining intermittently in Mithi, Islamkot, Deplo, Chhachroo and Kaloi.

Rainwater has accumulated on the roads in Mithi and Islamkot, people are facing difficulties in transportation.
