Lahore: The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has released the examination schedule for grades one to eight in 13 districts of the province.

The examinations will be taken in stages to deter the spread due to ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
According to an official notification issued by the PEC, the exams for 1-8 will begin from June 7 and continue until June 25 and more than five million students of classes one to eighth will sit the exams.
Moreover, all the schools in the province are directed to issue report cards from June 30.
The PEC has reviewed the schedule of conduct of School Based Assessment (SBA) and issued the notification of revised schedule.
On Sunday the Punjab government had issued a revised schedule for matriculation and intermediate exams for all boards across the province. According to which the annual matriculation exams will begin on May 25, while the intermediate exam will start on July 3.
Earlier, the government ordered educational institutions in 18 districts to remain closed until April 11.
The districts where schools closed include Lahore, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sialkot, Gujarat, Multan and Faisalabad.
On March 10, the federal government had announced a two-week Spring Break in Islamabad, Peshawar and seven Punjab cities where a sharp surge in infections was reported.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has reported 148 deaths and 5,499 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 16,453.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 772,381.
As many as 672,619 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,528 critical cases.
