CPPA and K-Electric have requested NEPRA for the rise in electricity per unit.


Islamabad: Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) and K-Electric power utility company in Karachi has applied to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase electricity prices.
As reported by GNN, CPPA has requested to NEPRA that electricity prices should be raised by Rs2.5 per unit and K-Electric has requested a Rs1.49 increment per unit.
According to CPPA, the company produced 11.95 billion units of electricity last month and electricity production cost 118 billion.
As stated by the company Rs23 per unit electricity was produced by furnace oil.
Rs24 per unit of electricity was produced by RLNG and Rs0.24 per unit was lost during line losses.
On the other hand, K-Electric states that Rs1.49 per unit is the sub-charge of electricity.
