Circular issued on December 27 has become ineffective: State Bank of Pakistan.


Karachi: State Bank of Pakistan has lifted all restrictions on imports.
As per the circular issued by the central bank, which was intended to take effect on December 27, it has now been deemed ineffective following recommendations from stakeholders.
According to the circular, the condition of imports for the provision of foreign exchange for revenues has been abolished.
Authorized dealers have been directed to provide foreign exchange without discrimination for all imports.
In line with the State Bank's directive, banks have been granted permission to release thousands of containers for exchange purposes.
The central bank has issued a circular to lift all restrictions on banks.
