The victim Amin Alvi was shot by muggers during a robbery attempt in Karachi’s Nazimabad area.

Karachi: Pakistani-Canadian citizen was tragically shot dead by muggers during a robbery attempt in Karachi's Nazimabad area.
The victim, identified as Amin Alvi, had been out shopping with four street children when the incident occurred near Board Office.
Reportedly, prior to the incident, Alvi had visited a bank and a money exchanger before taking the children shopping.
Two armed men on a motorcycle approach their car.
One of the assailants disembarked and demanded that Alvi hand over his cash and belongings, as revealed by the child's statement to the police.
Initially complying, Alvi resisted when the mugger attempted to reach into his pocket.
This provoked the assailant to shoot Alvi before fleeing the scene with his accomplice, leaving the victim on the road.
Eventually, a rickshaw driver took him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
According to the police, Alvi had retired from a foreign airline five years ago and would visit Karachi a few times each year.
Funeral prayers for Alvi will be offered once his family arrives in Karachi.
