15 prisoners break loose from prison in Chaman.
Chaman: A group of approximately 15 prisoners broke free from a prison in Chaman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after launching an attack on jail officials. The incident took place on Thursday, coinciding with the celebration of Eid ul Adha.
According to the police, the prisoners assaulted the officials while they were preparing to leave their barracks for Eid prayers. During the altercation, the prisoners managed to snatch a Kalashnikov rifle from one of the jail officials and fled the premises.
The officer in charge of the barrack revealed that the escaped prisoners are facing charges under Section 302 (punishment of murder) and other severe criminal offenses.
In a concerning development, the jail authorities reported that the prisoners fired shots using the same Kalashnikov they had seized from the officer stationed outside the facility's main gate.
