France: Protesters clash with police, setting cars on fire and launching firecrackers, as unrest continues for a second consecutive night in Nanterre, a working-class suburb of Paris.

The protests were triggered by the fatal shooting of a teenager during a traffic stop, further fueling the perception of police brutality in France.

The teenager, of North African origin, was killed by officers who used lethal force.

In Nanterre's Avenue Pablo Picasso, overturned vehicles were ablaze while fireworks were aimed at police lines shortly before midnight.

Retaliatory actions from the police were reported in Lille and Toulouse, along with incidents of unrest in Amiens, Dijon, and the Essonne administrative department south of Paris.

Numerous other locations across the greater Paris region also witnessed unrest, as shown in videos circulating on social media, including fireworks being directed at the Montreuil town hall.

President Emmanuel Macron condemned the shooting, describing it as "unexplainable and inexcusable."

An investigation is underway, and a police officer is being scrutinized for voluntary homicide after allegedly failing to comply with an order to stop his vehicle.
