Sanjrani urges PM for martyrs’ memorials
The acting president emphasizes the significance of the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the survival and prosperity of the country, saying, "We hold our martyrs in the highest regard."
Islamabad: Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday called upon Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to prioritize the construction of martyrs' memorials in the federal and provincial capitals to honor the sacrifices made by the nation's heroes.
Sanjrani emphasized the significance of the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the survival and prosperity of the country, stating, "We hold our martyrs in the highest regard."
He made these remarks in a letter addressed to the prime minister on Monday.
Sanjrani further highlighted the substantial improvement in the law and order situation in the province due to the supreme sacrifices made by the martyrs. He stressed the responsibility of ensuring that the youth and the general public always remember and respect the sacrifices made by these national heroes.
The acting president expressed hope that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would issue directives promptly to initiate the construction of memorials in honor of the martyrs.
Sanjrani proposed that photographs of the martyrs should be displayed prominently at airports, government buildings, schools, major highways, and train stations. He believed that this gesture would not only pay tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs but also showcase the nation's commitment to honoring its heroes to visitors and the international community.
In related news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and called upon the Swedish government to take strict action against those responsible for this disgraceful act.
Expressing satisfaction over the emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) regarding the matter, the prime minister stated, "We condemn the sacrilege of the Holy Quran by Sweden in the strongest words. It is imperative that those involved in this despicable act are brought to justice."
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for swift and strict action to be taken against the perpetrators of such acts of sacrilege to uphold the sanctity and respect of religious sentiments.
The government's strong stance reflects its commitment to protecting religious values and promoting harmony among different communities, while ensuring justice for acts that offend religious sentiments.
