The torrential rain caused havoc in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
Northern Indian States: The northern states of India have been severely affected by heavy rains and flooding, resulting in the loss of nearly 100 lives.
The torrential downpours have caused significant damage in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Delhi, where flash floods swept away trains, bridges collapsed.
According to Indian media reports, the monsoon rains have wreaked havoc, particularly in New Delhi, where heavy rainfall and flooding have pushed the water levels of the Yamuna River to dangerous levels.
Yesterday, the river's water level rose above 205 meters, crossing the perilous mark.
Furthermore, due to the incessant rainfall in Haryana, additional water was released into the river, reaching a record-breaking level of over 206 meters on Tuesday morning.
Authorities warn that the river's high flood level stands at 207.49 meters, with expectations of more water inflow that could create a hazardous situation.
In Uttarakhand state, roads and highways have been closed due to heavy rains and landslides, while the water level in rivers continues to rise to dangerous levels.
