Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 118 deaths in one day as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,611 cases of coronavirus were reported while 118 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,117.
As many as 689,812 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,826 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 288,598 in the province with 7,964 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 277,593 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,593.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 113,121 in the province with 3,103 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 21,618 confirmed cases while 232 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 16,463 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 461. On the other hand, there are 5,253 cases in GB with 104 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 72,981 cases in the capital city while 660 people have lost their lives.
