Karachi: Police shot dead a Dubai-returned Pakistani identified as Hashim and another man sustained the injuries for not stopping at police check-post in Manghopir, area of Karachi, GNN reported.
According to details, the family members of the victim protested by keeping the body outside police station.
While talking to media outside Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Hashim's maternal uncle Rustam said that boy and his friend were killed and injured by police firing.
The uncle stated that if police’s intention was to stop them, they could have fired at the tire or at their feet, but not straight at them.
Rustam continued to say: “Hashim had been living in Dubai for more than 15 years and had come to Karachi for his wedding and got married a month ago”.
On the other hand, police said regarding the incident that according to the eyewitnesses, a police mobile was standing at the scene of the incident, when the motorcyclists were signaled to stop which they did not follow.
Police are verifying the police station or department the mobile belonged for further investigation and to take action against them.
