Rawalpindi: A special court in Rawalpindi has granted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) a four-day physical remand of suspects involved in blackmailing citizens through loan offering mobile applications.
Following an investigation into online loan apps, the FIA's Cybercrime Wing arrested nine suspects and filed a case against 19 others after an unemployed man committed suicide due to the pressure of unpaid loan interest.
The FIA raided offices, seized materials, and blocked online advertisements related to the apps. The agency is collecting call and email records and seeking details from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan regarding the app company.
