Further, it urged the court to declare the Lahore High Court division bench's judgment to be invalid.

Lahore: Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president Chaudhry Parvez Elahi decided to approach the apex court for bail on Tuesday.
After the Lahore High Court suspended the protective bail judgment, the PTI leader made this decision.
The Punjab government's detention order was previously contested by Mr. Elahi at the LHC.
The application claimed the stance that the single bench of the LHC had approved the security bond, which the Punjab government had disputed, and that the division bench had postponed the order after hearing the Provincial government's appeal.
The petition further argued that Mr. Elahi was the subject of political retaliation and that political pressure was being put on the former chief minister of Punjab.
Further, it urged the court to declare the Lahore High Court division bench's judgment to be invalid.
Earlier, Rasikh Elahi along with other family members visited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in jail today.
According to sources, Parvez Elahi's grandson attended the meeting, which lasted for about an hour.
Earlier on July 2, Chaudhry Shujaat held two back-to-back meetings with Pervaiz Elahi at camp jail in a sign of ice breaking between the cousins who were once regarded as inseparable.
Shujaat visited the former chief minister of Punjab in prison along with Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain. The Shujaat's offer was met with Elahi's response that he had not yet made up his mind.
Sources state that Shujaat asked after Elahi and wished him luck. Both leaders also discussed the Pakistan's political situation.
