ECP contempt case: Imran Khan to be indicted on August 22
Shoaib Shaheen said: “There is plea for exemption from personal attendance”.
Islamabad: The hearing of contempt of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) case against Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been postponed till August 22.
According to details, chairman PTI's lawyer Shoaib Shaheen appeared in the contempt of ECP case and told Election Commission, ‘Yesterday I thought that I had received one record but today I found that both records were in the file’.
Shoaib Shaheen said: “There is plea for exemption from personal attendance,” to which the members of the Election Commission asked if PTI chairman will appear in the next hearing. Shoaib Shaheen replied he will try to do so.
Lawyer Imran Khan asked to hold the next hearing in September, we are on leave these days. On which the members of Election Commission told them to appear on some day in August, later we will be busy.
Member ECP said your representative wanted one record, both records were ready with ECP.
Lawyer Shoaib stated that Chairman PTI has gone to the hospital for a medical check-up.
The member commission continued to say that today the charge sheet was to be filed against PTI chief and postponed the hearing of the case till August 22 and he will be indicted on the same date. He must appear for indictment on the next hearing.
