Pakistan launches 'beep' social media app for govt employees
By serving as a unified platform, 'Beep' consolidates all social media activities, such as email, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter.

Islamabad: Pakistan has launched a new social media app called 'Beep,' exclusively designed for government employees.
The Ministry of Information Technology and the National IT Board will conduct a month-long trial of the app, followed by its implementation in federal ministries and departments.
Federal Minister for IT, Amin-ul-Haque, announced that the app will be gradually rolled out nationwide in its third phase.
With 'Beep' serving as a unified platform, all social media activities, including email, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter, will be consolidated, ensuring a secure environment to safeguard against cyber threats.
The launch of this Made in Pakistan app aims to mitigate potential cyberattacks, ensuring that sensitive government communications are better protected.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Federal Minister Amin-ul-Haque highlighted the paramount benefit of the app - it ensures 100% security.
'Beep' keeps all data within Pakistan's servers under the supervision of the National IT Board, eliminating the risk of audio or video leaks.
The COO of the National IT Board informed that initially, the 'Beep' app will be accessible only to government employees through a secure link.
In the third phase, it will be made available for nationwide use on the Google Play Store.
The launch of 'Beep' marks a significant step in fortifying Pakistan's cybersecurity infrastructure and providing government employees with a secure and reliable social media platform for official communication.
