Pakistan calls for more unity among ASEAN member states
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says ASEAN was established on this day in 1967 and has since been providing a blueprint for regional peace and cooperation.
Islamabad: Pakistan on Tuesday called for more connectivity and unity among ASEAN member states to overcome the collective challenges and prospering together as a region.
In his congratulatory message on the occasion of 56th ASEAN Day today, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said ASEAN was established on this day in 1967 and has since been providing a blueprint for regional peace and cooperation.
The Minister said Pakistan shares ASEAN's vision of amity and cooperation with countries in Asia-Pacific and has therefore, endeavoured to develop partnerships all across Asia particularly with ASEAN countries.

He said Pakistan's relations with ASEAN countries have grown both bilaterally and multilaterally, with great potential for enhanced cooperation in trade, tourism, agriculture, information technology, and maritime cooperation.
Bilawal Bhutto reiterated Pakistan's desire for a strong and successful Southeast Asia, which is critical for the stability and development of our entire continent.
