Islamabad: Outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to leave for London in the next few days for her ailing wife’s treatment.
According to sources informed of the matter, Nusrat Shehbaz has been a patient at Ittefaq Hospital for the last six days, and the departing premier will travel to the UK with her wife.
He is also expected to meet his brother and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif during his visit, say sources.
It is important to note that interim premier Anwaarul Haq Kakar will take the oath of office on August 14 while Shehbaz Sharif will receive a guard of honor as part of his goodbye ceremony.
Earlier, it has been decided that on Saturday Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Anwaar-ul-Haq Kaakar will be the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan.
According to details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and opposition leader Raja Riaz held a consultation regarding caretaker prime minister today at Prime Minister House, after which Shehbaz Sharif left for Lahore.
Talking to the media representatives after meeting with Prime Minister, opposition leader Raja confirmed that Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has been named the Caretaker Prime Minister.
Raja Riaz said that Shehbaz Sharif and him have agreed to make Anwaar-ul-Haq the caretaker Prime Minister. PM has also signed this decision.
