Upon touchdown, the aircraft received a ceremonial water cannon salute, while passengers were greeted with bouquets.
Gilgit-Baltistan's Chief Secretary, Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, hailed this as a pivotal moment, asserting that the launch of international flights to Skardu will foster fresh travel prospects, binding the region globally.

Wani emphasized its significance in advancing tourism and bolstering connectivity.
On Pakistan's 76th Independence Day, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan's envoy to the UAE, celebrated the maiden Dubai-Skardu flight, praising both the Ministry of Civil Aviation and GB administration for their pivotal roles in realizing this historic endeavor.
Tirmizi urged travelers to capture and share Pakistan's scenic beauty, underscoring its potential in enhancing tourism and international relations.
The Ambassador regarded this achievement as pivotal in promoting tourism and strengthening ties, spotlighting the breathtaking allure of Shangrila in Skardu.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) hailed this “momentous occasion” due to Skardu's unique altitude of 7,500 feet. The landmark event is poised to elevate airport accessibility and open new doors for tourism, fortifying air connectivity between the two locales.
“The ripple effects extend beyond travelers, positively impacting the local economy,” the CAA affirmed.
