Protesters planned to set up a presence in front of K-Electric and the Governor House.

Lahore: Nationwide protests erupt against inflated electricity bills on Sunday.
The business community has issued a severe warning to the government, stating that they will start a statewide strike if the present electricity bills are not significantly decreased.
Moreover, prominent businessmen from Karachi have described their course of action, including a demonstration that will take place in front of the Governor's Mansion and every K-Electric location.
This act of protest is intended to express their displeasure with the rising electricity bills.
Sharjeel Goplani, President of the Timber Market, asserted that he is prepared to escalate the matter to an international level. He plans to draft letters to various global organizations, including the United Nations, to spotlight the perceived injustice.
The chairman of the caterer’s decorator’s association, Qais Mansoor Shaikh, added his voice to the chorus of disapproval by emphasizing that excessive electrical costs will never be accepted.
He emphasized that they planned to set up a presence in front of K-Electric and the Governor House.
It’s important to note that the swell of public outcry against steep electricity bills has reverberated across the nation. Demands are mounting for the government to retract the additional tax imposed. Demonstrators argue that the burden of inflation already weighs heavily upon them, and the escalated electricity bills have further exacerbated their struggle, compelling them to part with household items to meet the payment demands.

We need to grow the economy. We need to stop torching the planet. Here’s how we do both.
