Interim PM Kakar vows to provide electricity bills relief in next 48 hours
He claimed that the problem with energy bills was exaggerated and added that since Pakistan had a loan deal with the international lender.
Islamabad: Interim Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar will announce relief on inflated electricity price in next 48 hours.
The premier assured senior journalist in the federal capital that the administration would aid with the general population within the next 48 hours.
He said various other options were also under consideration to extend the relief to masses.
He claimed that the problem with energy bills was exaggerated and added that since Pakistan had a loan deal with the international lender, citizens were required to pay their bills.
In reference to the upcoming elections, he stated that the government would follow the Supreme Court's choice of the election date.
In addition, he justified recent modifications to the National Database Registration Authority's (NADRA) legislation governing the appointment of its chairman, claiming that the changes were made with respect to terrorism and other delicate issues.
He ruled out a crisis in the nation but admitted that things are difficult but that "we will survive." He claimed it was an intentional attempt to sow doubt and discontent among the populace.
